SAT vs Matric

Good day, my question is .....how relevant is an American syllabus here in SA? What are the pitfalls or advantages of sending your child to one of these schools that write SAT as opposed to matric exams?

    Eh Brian will you please explain more explicitly what SAT is because like really i'd love answering your question but i'm tempted by the word SAT I really don't know what it means ,okay?...actually I am using my brother's login details my name ain't Andile I am Mxolisi thanks:)
