Schoolguide is an educational hub, which is rapidly becoming the most trusted and regular source of school related information in South Africa. We provide information and analysis to help parents make better-informed decisions about their child's education. Schoolguide offers a greater reach for schools to the public than their own websites may receive.

The Online School Directory, lists all schools in South Africa (over 29,000) categorized by type, level and province,  with an in-depth profile and GIS mapping functionality (for Member schools only).

Schoolguide is a platform for schools to showcase their ethos, achievements and accolades. Member schools who actively participate by submitting news, events, images and updated profiles are constantly promoted via multiple channels on our website, and email marketing.

Schoolguide received 26,792 visitors and 102,846 page views in May 2009. Monthly Growth 38% increase (compared to April 2009). Our site has grown +98% over the last year.

SCHOOL DIRECTORY

The school directory has over 29,000 educational institutions listed from ECD to FET, both public and private schools. The schools are listed in categories.

SCHOOL NEWS

School News is submitted by schools, and gives them additional exposure to Showcase and market themselves. School News also appears on the home page as well as in our bi-weekly and monthly newsletters, which go out to schools and registered users. We currently have approx 10,000 valid and active current email addresses. The School News articles are linked back to the Schools Listing in the School Directory, if they are Member Schools.

SCHOOL EVENTS

This section is available for all schools to post events in and around their communities. Future plans for this section includes user submission with administrator approval.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

Users are encouraged to register on Schoolguide, search for your school and post your valuable opinions using the rate and reviews. Other parents searching for schools and can quickly see what others have had to say, using your contribution they can then make that vital decision of choosing the best school for their child.

Schoolguide has a huge search engine penetration, we currently have over 9000 keywords on Google, with some 300 “Specific” school related keywords in the top 10 position. In some cases Schoolguide Members schools pages appear before the actual school domain listing.

Schoolguide currently, only employs online marketing.
We have three email channels that collectively have 11000 users/members.
Newsletters are sent to these channels on a bi-weekly basis, with a view to make them weekly (in the case of events and news)
