The seed to start a Christian School was planted into Kevin Edmunds’ heart soon after he began to minister as the Pastor of New Covenant Church Ficksburg. So when seven children needed education due to a lack of space in the local primary school, he knew that it was an appointment from God. From the time that the King’s School started in 1997, it grew from seven children in the Sunday school hall of the church to filling the entire church building.
Soon the school had to expand into the Hall of the Cherry Festival show grounds. Although the conditions were not ideal – the lack of insulation made temperatures extreme – the school continued to flourish for two years.
After much prayer, letters, phone calls and even more prayer – the King’s School finally moved to the Huis Troskie hostel building in which it still stands today.
The heart of Kevin and that which has been implanted into teachers of King’s School is that “we are dealing with eternal things – children’s lives. Bless them so they can be a blessing.”

To offer our students tools that will enable them to make good decisions and to have a firm foundation and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Standard of Conduct
Students of this school are expected to refrain from engaging in cheating, swearing, smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages or any conduct that is contrary to the character of Jesus Christ. Students are expected to act in an orderly and respectful manner, morally and honestly. Students must agree to strive towards unquestionable character in dress, conduct and attitude. It is our goal that these standards be maintained by students’ off-campus as well as on-campus.
