Established in 1993, Hugs & Kisses Educare is a daycare situated in the secure boomed in suburb of Sunninghill Gardens, that cares for children from 3 months through to the year in which they turn 5, and offers both full day and half day care. Our high care giver to child ratio enables us to maintain a caring, nurturing and stimulating "home from home" environment for children from all cultures and religions.

Hugs & Kisses Educare Centre is a daycare facility caring for children from 3 months of age through to the year in which the child turns 5 years old, and has been operating for 21 years in the secure suburb of Sunninghill Gardens in Sandton, Northern Johannesburg, South Africa.

The crèche is registered as a Close Corporation with its members being Sue and Steve Liebenberg. Sue is the Principal of Hugs & Kisses. Sue has a passion for children. She qualified as a Grade 1 teacher, and taught at Rivonia Primary School. With the birth of her children, she opened a small playschool at her house, which she ran for seven years.

In 1993 Steve and Sue bought the property at 11 Mirwani Road, in Sunninghill Gardens, and converted the house into an up market crèche facility. It is a 1 500m2 fully walled property, with a large grassed play area for the children.

Hugs & Kisses complies inall respectswiththe Public Health By-laws ofthe cityofJohannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.The certification covers all aspects of health andsafety, including childcare activities, foodpreparation,fire protection anda daily refuseremoval service for soiled disposable nappies.  Asper the certification,wearepermitted tocarefor seventy-five children.

At leasttwo staff members in each of the fourgroups atHugs &Kisses have currentfirst aidcertificates, including paediatricCPR.

In terms of the certification, Hugs& Kissesis subjectto regular health inspections.

Hugs & Kisses isopenfrom 07:00 inthe morninguntil18:00in the evening,witha half dayoption forparentswhocollecttheir child by 14h00.

Breakfast, mid-morning snack and lunch areserved tobothfull and halfday children, withthe full day children alsogetting an afternoon snack.All foodand liquid refreshmentsaresupplied by Hugs &Kisses, withthe exceptionofBaby Formula,which mustbe suppliedbythe parents.Careful noteis taken ofany food allergies or dietaryrestrictions as notifiedbyparents.

Parentsarerequestedtosupplydisposable nappiesand wetwipesfor their child.These arekept inyour child’sbag,and only usedfor your child.

Hugs & Kisses isdividedinto five groups,splitaccording tothe developmental ageof thechildren.  The number ofchildren in the differentgroups willvaryfrom time to time,aschildren progress to thenextdevelopmental level.  Inallthe groups, apartfrom the Kittens,age appropriate activitiesareplanned around weekly themes.

We have a full time cookwhoprepares allthe meals at Hugs& Kisses, aswell as agardener who comes inonce a week.

External service providers providethe followco-curricular activities for thechildren inthe Teddies, Tiggers & Owls groups.

Hugs & Kisses is locatedat11 Mirwani Road within Sunninghill Gardens, asecureresidentialsuburb of northern Sandton, withpermanentaccess control,as well as a24 hour dedicatedsecurityvehicle thatonlypatrolswithin theboomed off area.

Sunninghill Gardens is close tothe Sunninghill Business Node,EskomMegawattParkandSunninghill Hospital, witheasy access from Paulshof, Rivonia,GalloManor,WoodmeadandMidrand.Thereis also easy access from boththeWoodmeadand Rivoniaoff ramps,providing accessibility from the N1, N3 andM1 highways.

Sunninghill Gardens has two securitycontrolled entrances,which aremanned 24 hours a day,and havepermanentclosed circuit cameras at both entrances.Thereis aSavikaSecuritydedicated vehicle thatpatrols thesuburb24 hours aday.When summoned,the vehicle should gettoHugs &Kisses within two minutes.

The Sunninghill Hospitalis two minutes away from Hugs &Kisses, with itsfully equippedcasualty section.  BeingaNetcare hospital,ithasthe support ofthe attached Netcare911Para-medics and ambulance service.
