Introduction

Creston College is a Co-educational Independent School situated on spacious grounds on the lower South Coast near Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal.

On this well-appointed campus, with stunning views of the ocean, we provide education for boys and girls in Pre-Primary (Grade 000 – Grade 0); Junior Primary (Grade 1 – Grade 3); Senior Primary (Grade 4 – Grade 7) and College (Grade 8 – Grade 12).

We place great emphasis on the “Creston” family, yet each phase has sufficient space to develop its own particular identity.

We are a proud member of the Independent Schools’ Association of South Africa (ISASA) family of schools.

Education

As our mission statement indicates, we emphasize the development of leadership skills in Creston pupils and in so doing we believe Creston pupils will truly appreciate the value of knowledge, vision and harmony in their own lives and in their country.

Creston’s Christian ethos ensures that the values of integrity, self-discipline, independent thinking and respect are part of the fibre of the school and it is within this framework that the academic and co-curricular programme finds both its shape and form.

Academics

Creston College bases its curriculum on the requirements of the Independent Examination Board (IEB). This exam body sets international examination standards, accredited by UMALUSI, which flow through the Creston academic curriculum from Grade 12 down to Grade 1.

Creston offers a traditional academic curriculum geared toward preparing children for tertiary studies and professional qualifications.

A strong emphasis is placed on securing the basic cognitive skills required for success in the Foundation Phase and then emphasizing the more advanced skills of understanding, reasoning and integration in the higher grades.

Sport

Sport is an integral part of the Creston College curriculum in the Pre-Primary, Junior Primary, Senior Primary and College Phases.

Culture

Creston is blessed to have a well-appointed school hall with excellent thearte facilities. Every year one of the 3  phases stages a production .

Ecoschool

Creston has now achieved the highest rating - Platinum (International Flag) status– the highest award any school can achieve.
