With five hundred learners on the roll, the school continues to offer a service highly valued by parents. Over the years, Iona Convent has had a special interest in providing for the community in the lower-income bracket. Today, learners come from the surrounding formerly disadvantaged areas. Provision is made for the free and subsidised education of a number of children. Thirty children who are affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic are accommodated free of charge.
